Criminal question:

I have been accused of theft from my employer although not charged yet. I plan to plead NG as I did not commit an offence. I am on Police Bail at the moment for the 2nd time, due to return soon. My issue is with the way the police are investigating. I know it is their job to prove if I am guily (Iam not) but it seems they are missing out on bits that can prove my innocence. They have yet to search my work place to actually ascertain whether the items I am supposed to have stolen are actually missing. Circumstantial evidence is being assumed. If this goes to court and they haven't actually searched and ascertained the items are missing, do they have a case? Thank you.
